Operate AI agents locally

Privacy-compliant automation without cloud dependency

Many companies already use AI services such as ChatGPT, Copilot or other cloud-based tools in their day-to-day work - often without knowing exactly where uploaded documents or customer data are ultimately processed. This poses a significant risk in terms of GDPR compliance and trade secret protection.

An AI agent is fundamentally different from a Chat-Tool: Instead of responding to a request only once, he pursues a specific goal, perceives his environment, performs actions independently and decides for himself what to do next over several steps.

The local operation of such agents offers a solution: Open source LLMs run directly on their own hardware and are implemented via the open model context protocol with practical tools. All processing remains in-house and via integrated approval dialogs, the company retains full control over the agent's actions at all times.

Using a concrete practical example, the workshop shows step by step how such a locally hosted AI agent can be set up and operated.

Workshop content:

  • Necessary components for the operation of a local AI agent
  • Identification of tasks that are particularly suitable for local AI
  • Classification of technical andeconomic Limitations of Local AI Solutions
  • Evaluate how cloud AI continues to make sense

Objective: Participants will be taught how AI agents can be operated locally without having to accept data leakage into external systems. This should serve as a basis forserve to evaluate and introduce local AI solutions in their own company in a well-founded manner.

Target group: Employees and managers who are responsible for IT infrastructure or the use of AI in small and medium-sized companies.

Technical knowledge: Basic technical knowledge required
