Data Management for Administration Training Series - Structuring Data

Data Management for Administration - Module 2 - Bringing Systematics to Data Chaos

Systematic organisation and maintenance of administrative data for better findability and use

Everyday work in administration brings with it a growing variety of documents and information. If these are stored in different folder structures or new systems, the team quickly loses the common overview. This is precisely where systematic data management comes in.

After examining the basics of data literacy in the first module, this module is now intensively devoted to the underlying structures. We take a look at the day-to-day organization of files and documents. The module is designed in such a way that newcomers can participate just as easily as people who have already attended the first event.ng.

In this online module, we look at how modern systems work compared to the classic folder storage on the drive and why our everyday way of entering data is so important. Together, we derive pragmatic approaches that can be easily applied at the desk to store your own file.to make it clearer.

Contents:

  • The logic of modern systems: The difference between classic directories and a system-supported repository
  • The human factor: Why the way data is entered is so crucial for later use
  • The domino effect: What impact individual emergency solutions and shortcuts have on working together
  • Orientation in everyday life: Deriving simple, common rules for a comprehensible file structure

Objective:
Better understand the functioning of modern digital filing systems and recognize why uniform inputs are so important in everyday life. Getting to know the first pragmatic approaches to organise yourself in a more structured way in the daily data environment.

Target group:
Employees of the local and state administration in Brandenburg and Berlin
