Final STAR*PARADE 2024

Grand finale of the first STAR*PARADE in Cottbus

08.10.2024

On 19th of September, the grand finale of the STAR*PARADE 2024 took place at the Audimax of the BTU C-S in Cottbus, organised by the new Lusatian founding network.

More than 350 guests, including Economics Minister Prof. Dr. Jörg Steinbach and Mayor Tobias Schick, celebrated the innovative ideas of the participants. The mood was electrifying! Minister Steinbach called the Event a glimmer of hope and emphasised the importance of innovation. Mayor Schick saw this as a sign of successful structural change for the region.

In total, there were around 80 applications and almost 50 pitches in ten categories. The star parade impressively showed what is possible when Lusatia works together. Ten founders have been named LAUSITZSTARS, including start-ups such as Parlicka, PyroPower and Museful.

The pitches on September 14th at the Modellfabrik Cottbus, which was dedicated to the topic of digitisation, was particularly exciting. There were many impressive business ideas, from marketplaces to online services to AI document systems and 3D online shops. Martin Lautsch from the EDIH pro_digital had the honor of participating as a member of the four-member jury.

In the digitalization category, Abdullah Zeyn Hassan won the prize with Museful. Martin Lautsch was able to announce the winner of this category at the big and well-attended evening event of the finale in the Audimax.

A highlight was the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding to strengthen the founding ecosystem. The close cooperation of regional actors made the STAR*PARADE a complete success. What do you think? Are you also so enthusiastic about the innovative power of Lusatia?
