Innovation workshop: 3D printing

Learn 3D printing easily: From digital planning to printing, for beginners and interested parties.

25.09.2025

Nowadays, 3D printing offers a fast, cost-effective and flexible way to produce prototypes or individual pieces up to small series. Learn the basics of designing 3D printable prototypes in this workshop. Experience the complete pipeline - from the first idea to the design, digital planning to the final print.master the basics to implement your own projects independently and to use them in a variety of ways both privately and in the company.

Bonus: All participants go home with their first self-constructed and printed object.

Learning Objectives

  • Acquisition of basic knowledge in parametric 3D CAD design (with OnShape).
  • Getting to know the 3D printer as a versatile tool for everyday tasks, workflow optimizations and quick validation of ideas.
  • Training spatial understanding and mindset, 3D objects in 2D sketchand vice versa.
  • Understanding how 3D printing reduces production time and costs while improving innovation cycles.
  • Deepening competencies in the selection and deployment of 3D printing solutions for various business needs.

Prerequisites

  • No experience in CAD / 3D printing is required.
  • You can use your own laptop or the PCs provided.
  • If you want to access the drafts created during the workshop, create San account with Onshape in advance

Target group
This workshop is aimed at beginners who are interested in 3D printing but have not yet familiarised themselves with the subject, at SMEs and public institutions who need a practical introduction to 3D printing.and to all those who already have experience with 3D printers, but have not yet created their own designs in a CAD program.
